In my 40's with a mortgage and family. My wife and I enjoyed senior positions. I successfully ran my own business but never became financially secure, and Jean held a prominent position after 17 years working with a large telecoms company. We set up our own business under the umbrella of a multinational company currently turning over $2.1 Billion and forecasting $5 Billion over the next 5 years. Our UK operation has had a 36% growth over the last 2 years, turning over £36 Million in 2005 with a forecast of £40 Million in 2006 and £100 Million plus over the next 4 - 5 years. Our "look good, feel good" wellness market place is booming now and forecast to continue to boom for years ahead thanks to the baby boomers, so we are in the front of this massive growth trend.
Within 3 years, working in conjunction with this major US based company, this had totally changed our lives giving us an income and life-style most corporate executives can't dream possible. Most important of all, we now have the balance of time and money right. Last year we had 89 days family holidays, quality time with our children and grand-children and with the same planned for 2005/6 and still earned an income in 6 figures. We developed a property portfolio of over a million pounds. We laughed more and had more fun and enjoyment in the last 8 years than we had in all of our working careers. We have also developed one of the most successful businesses here in the UK and International Businesses.
We are not talking about a job, with all the insecurities that go with it. We all know that job security doesn’t exist. Unfriendly time life balance, limited earnings, short term contracts, redundancies are common place, no pension worth speaking about after 45 years of working and 40% (and more) p.a.y.e.
