I wanted to post about what a positive experience I had this week end. I helped judge a pageant in LA. And I must tell you it was a joy. I have been judging for over 25 years and this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. After each age division was crowned the contestants and their Mothers came to the judges and thanked us and people this was from last place to queen. These Mothers and contestants showed sportsmanship like I have never seen. I was setting where I could see the contestants getting ready to go on stage, well in the older groups 10years and older these girls were helping each other get ready pulling down each others linings, spreading out each others dresses, pining each others numbers on, checking each others make-up and in general helping one another to win. This is what I call good sportsmanship. I wish all pageant people could act this way; it would make the experience so much better for all concerned. We could all take a lesson from these Mothers and daughters, have fun and be happy for the winners and proud of where you placed no matter where it was. I have all ways said all contestants are winners just for getting on that stage and trying.
Congratulations to all the pageant contestants that competed this weekend and remember you are all winners to me. Have a fun experience this coming weekend where ever you compete, and Mom remember it is you that sets the pace on how your child handles where she places, be proud of her no matter where she places and all ways show god sportsmanship.

It has come to my attention that my contestants want to know what I will do about bad sportsmanship.
Well we no longer ban anyone from our pageant system but we will pull titles if you show un-sportsmanship at the pageant or afterward on these boards. Even tho it is not the child's fault the parents acted up, but this is the it will have to be. Parents think before you speak. We would never try and take back your awards but we will pass your title down to the next in line if you do show bad sportsmanship before, during or after the pageant.
This is a hobby for the contestant and a business for the director, just like softball. Of course we will ask anyone to leave the place of the pageant if you are unrulely or get to out spoken. We do hope this never happens, but with some things that happened after our National and some parents becoming angry because of some decisions I have made. We have tried to make this a Child friendly system, we try to make the children happy and that is our goal. Parents we want you to know qualified judges are judging your child and we do not have any COI in our system. We do not play the name game nor do we stop any child from competing just because the parents act badly.
We have been asking for suggestions and if you have any please let me know what your thought are and we will all ways work with the parents to help any way we can.
We can give you a list of places to purchase clothes, get H&M, Photo's done or anything you need help with just ask that is what we are here for Pageants are a sever ice business and we want to be of sever ice to you.

We really enjoyed spending time with all our friends and making new ones. The kids had a blast playing together, and the moms were all very friendly (well with the exception of one or 2). That's how a pageant should be, everyone enjoying themselves and not involved in backstabbing and immature behavior. I didn't notice anyone making a fuss afterward either---how refreshing to go to a pageant and not see someone make a butt of themselves after crowning.

I would like to thanks Ms. Linda for a very fun day at her pageant in Kennett, MO. You had 9 Beautiful girls and I would have hated to have been a judge there. When I MC, I get to see these girls preforme and let me tell you, you had some hard competition. All these girls were right on and really rocked that stage.

YOU HAVE NO RIGHT to come on here and be mean to Ms. Gwen. If you had called her she would have told you about the cancellation herself. After all the bashing ABout her last pageant, I don't blame her. Everyone doesn't like something about every pageant, but to bring a total bash to these boards and try to run down someones good name is uncalled for. Go Go Ms Gwen, you are the most honest director I know.At least you will let a child have their wins eventhough you might get bashed for it. I for one admire you for that.You don't have to be a NAME to win in this system. If one does well at Gemstar, they get rewarded, not taken away because she is afraid of the bash feast that will ensue. Ms Gwen I really admire you for standing up for what is right.

I'm very sorry you are upset about the pageant being cancelled in Clarksville.
1 I only had 1 deposit in had, I cancelled on Tues. my paper work says if I do not have 10 deposits by Monday before the pageant I will cancel or post-pone the pageant. Most of the time as long as I have 5 in hand I will go head and hold it casue I usely get more calls the week of the pageant. You should always call a director and let them know you plan on attending a pageant so we know we will have enough to pay for our building/room rent, crowns, awards, and etc. And Sunshine had nothing to do with me cancelling my pageant Sunshine was on Sat and Mine was to be on Sunday, I had already plannned to do both hers and mine, untill low entries and bashing.
2. After the bash fest of 2 weeks I cancelled the pageant Tues. where I normally wait untill wed. to see if I get any calls on it, but once again my paper work states II MUST HAVE 10 by Monday before the pageant date to hold the pageant. Most director are this was, I know several of my director friends that have cancelled or post-poned pageant this year because we did not have enough calls to be asured we would have enough to break even. But after beeing bashed for a week or 2 I cancelled early.
3. Next time please not just my pageant but all pageants you plan on entering, send a deposit or call the director aleast a week before that you are coming so we will know we have enough. Due to the high cost of gas, building/room rent, judges, and Croun/awards we like to know aleast we will break even on a pageant and it takes 10 just to pay for these things. We are business women and you must run the pageant system as a business, I love the children and try to give the best awards and keep my entry fee low so all I ask is that you let me know in plenty of time you are coming.

It takes a very low person to come onto the directors board and post some S#!()^ remark about the director must be the skuzzy low life AOL user what they have not figured out is one can tell each apart all you need do is look for certain #;s guess you are not as smart as you think. We all know a couple of people that have been banned with AOL guess what the rest of us are happy that you people are GONE. Makes the pageant a better place to be. Guess some have and will find out that you can't BITCH and BUY your wins with this director. Some of you need to open your eyes up at other pageants and see what goes on. Sending a child to the judges table with gifts I guess that looks A OK to some. Guess it depends on who it is.!!!!. Ms.Gwen if I were you I would not worry about what some of these people say they need to watch what goes on at other pageants and worry less about yours.

I will have to say that Classic Cutes was very refreshing this weekend. We had a great time and met some new pageant parents. I watched Channing for the first time she is AWSOME and very beautiful. We met some of the nicest girls and their families. I want to say a big congrats to all the Queens, Supreme Queens and Suprems you were all great and it was a very nice weekend.

I would also like to say to Gwen it was nice to see all the other directors at the pageant talking to their contestants and their moms. I even noticed a couple of children that were playing with one of the judges child during the pageant. It is nice to know that other parents and children are friendly just as they are at yours. The past two weekends have been the same way the directors, parents and judges children playing with each others. I for one think this is the way it is with every system. See Gwen it must NOT be COI it happens at every pageant.

I was the tabulator for this pageant and YES THE DIRECTOR CHANGED OUR SCORES!!!!!!!! I do have a copy of the master with the true winners. If you would like your scores please email me with your contestants name and number. This pageant was a disaster and this director has to be the most dishonest person I have ever met in my life.
