2011 December 1st - first 5-year update required for new Lifetime Licences

Ofcom extended it to 6 years to miss the Olympic preparation period. So renewals due Dec 2012.

The first UK amateur licences that did not require a Morse test were issued in the 1950's - G3 + 3 letters /T
They permitted operation on frequencies above 420 MHz
