Two Idaho congressmen want to know why the Air Force denied a flyover request to a long-standing Christian event in Boise.

The flyover had become a tradition at the 43-year-old "God and Country Festival."

But this year, the Air Force said the request failed to meet Department of Defense guidelines.

The Air Force told CBN News that policy "prohibits support for events which appear to endorse, selectively benefit, or favor any special interest or religious organization."

The American Center for Law and Justice says it's concerned.

"There have been historic flyovers for many years at this event," Colby May of the ACLJ said. "And noting that there's been no change in the nature of the event those years to this year, there's nothing that would otherwise explains why it is that this year they were disapproved for the flyover."

The conservative group plans to investigate the decision.

The Navy and three other military branches sent recruiters to the event this year.
