Subject: Artscreen Help!

Hi!
I'm Ruby, an artist working in India.
I have an architect friend of mine for whom I'm working on a particular concept.

There is this staircase(in the interior) going from the ground to first floor in the client's house. Since it is an open staircase, she wanted to screen the space in between the flights. The screen had to be more of a visual screen.

I gave her an idea of a visual artscreen of paintings hung on the framework of dimensions 6'-9"(length) x
14'-0"(height) on which the panel/painting could move both vertically and horizontally i.e. the whole framework would have 7 panels/paintings wherein 2 gaps would be always present.

My doubt is:
1. Is it possible to construct such a framework where the panel/painting can move both horizontally and vertically?

2. How would the tracks ( on which the painting moves) be designed then?

Hope to get a reply from any of you soon.
Thanks
Ruby
