Looks like we are still getting it.

I still check the board every few days but, 10 years after Anna created TBF, it looks like the last of the original Support Group dot com posters are giving up the ghost. We had a good run and I'd like to keep in touch at least by e-mail.

TBF and the people there were there for me through the toughest hours and days and months of my life. My life is different now, better in most ways, but I miss the connections I made on the web, the knowledge that any time, night or day, if I needed support, someone was there and someone would listen.

Today, I'm more likely to visit a forum for artists than for people with depression, and more likely to surf e-bay or to blog than to visit a chat room or "talk" via instant messenger.

I know that my depression is still part of me. It is held at bay now by meds and the love and support I have in real life. I know it could come back full force with certain triggers. I feel about it the way people feel about the Holocaust: "Never Forget."

Never forget, so it can't ever happen again. Never forget, because it shaped who I am. Never forget, because it taught me compassion and empathy. If I never had it, I would not understand how someone could suffer.

Anyway, it's good to see a familiar name reappear. I'm here if you need me.

Love,

Liz
