Good news about the cancer -- sorry you are in depression. You are right, loneliness really can trigger it.

Can you get involved in something, take a class, do charity work, something to get out and meet people. Even a part-time job? I volunteer at the animal shelter and when I retire I may start a pet-sitting business. The kind where you go by people's houses and feed their pets (and play with them) while they are on vacation. I'd ask to be paid in cash (wink).

Just some random thoughts. Please don't sit at home watching daytime TV. That would depress anyone.
