Subject: Upon first viewing (and, of course, quick re-watch of the Grissom/Sara scenes)...

... I liked it! Could've used a little more explanation at the end, but hey, they got the killers. Good enough for me.

Greg's autopsy "de-flowering" was hysterical... the looks he traded with Grissom were classic. Awesome acting by both Billy and Eric. I needed the laugh!

Although I already knew about the "napping" guy in the sewer, I still jumped a foot or two. Griss making Cath and Warrick walk through the tunnels all night was funny and a little mean at the same time. Personally, I loved it.

If you ask me, that Warrick/Catherine moment was a little... how do I put this... un-called for? What's the point of it? If TPTB are shooting for more UST, why not just turn up the heat under the G/S burner (yeah, I know I'm biased, but don't you see my point?)?

I really enjoyed the suspense/action in this ep... so many times, the hour is filled with the crime scene and the lab, and frankly not much else. We got a large variety tonight, and I liked the frenzy surrounding the bombs and explosives - really captured my attention even more than usual.

You didn't really expect me to make a post without having a Grissom/Sara paragraph, did you? Didn't think so. Of course, I loved the "I'm concerned" scene... it was intimate in a touching way. His eyes held genuine care when he said it, and Sara had a very cute smile on her face as she looked at him afterward. Also thoroughly enjoyed his specifically naming her when he was calling everybody out of the house... his body language showed that he meant business. I was hoping for a dramatic slo-mo of both of them running out of the house together, and at just the right moment, the building would explode behind them as they dove for the ground with his arm around her. (Yes, I'm pathetic... proud of it, too.) Oh, well, hopefully next time.

All in all, nicely done episode. Really looking forward to next week's, especially after the last clip in the preview. A case concerning a child, and as expected, Grissom doesn't look happy about it. Oughta be good.

What did you all think?

[> Haha, I kinda yelled an expletive at the screen with the Catherine/Warrick scene. And my roommate said the same thing, why not focus on Gris and Sarah? haha, I guess we'll see where this goes...Also, not so sure I introduced myself over here....I post occasionally at the Jagged Pack board and found the link. so, Hi ! -- Double E, 01:14:15 10/08/04 Fri [1]

[> Ok I am going to be different here...since I am not a Gris/Sarah shipper (no throwing things!) I found the Catherine/Warrick scene "interesting" not a couple I would have put together but it had a spark....hmmm I thought the epi was really good and really kept the pace fast through out the whole show. Ok Ok Gris does seemed concerned about Sarah. I think she was abused in her childhood...did you see the look she had at the end watching the video? -- jagglebelle : ), 13:58:27 10/08/04 Fri [1]

[> [> That scene with Cath and Warrick had caused a little of an uproar on the graveshiftcsi mailing list. It was an interesting episode and the Gil "concerned" scene didn't mean anything to me above the boss being concerned for his employee. If you haven't figured it out i'm C/G shipper and proud of it though they don't have to become a couple on the show for me to like the show. I love their friendship even more. -- Rita (who's trying out this website), 19:06:20 10/14/04 Thu [1]

[> [> [> Welcome, Rita!! While I'm a huge G/S shipper, I have to agree with you re: the Catherine/Grissom friendship. They're so comfortable, and oftentimes humorous, with each other, that it's a real joy to watch. I just don't think they'd work as a couple. -- DJEgirl, 19:34:36 10/14/04 Thu [1]

[> There is no Griss/Sara burner to turn up. In fact, Griss has no burner--except the Bunsen type in the lab! If Sara is thinking there is, then it isn't alcohol she has been drinking, it is snifing too much formaldehyde in the lab! C'mon, DJEgirl, you didn't think I would let this pass, did you? Griss just isn't interested (I think he has the same redhead on the side that Gibbs does. When she's not in DC, she's in Vegas!) -- Postrider, ::winking:: at his pal, DJEgirl..., 19:30:05 10/12/04 Tue [1]

[> [> LOL at your cross-country-travelling-redhead theory, Posty. Your creative mind never ceases to amaze me. However, the past year or so of the show has really convinced me that Griss IS interested, and very much so (especially since S4's G/S shipper gift episode, Butterflied). He's kept a close (caring and loving, not paternal!) eye on her since late last season, and has seemed especially concerned for her this year. He's really starting to see her as a woman, not just the young and eager to learn student that she was when they first met so many years ago. She's awakening the emotions he's kept such a tight lid on for so long. -- DJEgirl... who would give just about anything to date Grissom AND Gibbs at the same time! Just add Harm, and it's a perfect trio!!, 19:42:00 10/14/04 Thu [1]

[> [> [> Oh, DJEgirl, you are SUCH a romantic to believe that the old duffers of the world can attract the younguns. The problem is that you are reversing the fantasy! Usually, it's the old guy who "wishes" he could attract the young woman, and you're a young woman, saying that you are buying into the fantasy--FROM THE OPPOSITE SIDE!!!....and without the added incentive of the smell of money! Sorry, my dear friend. What you see as a shipper gift, I see as...>>> -- Postrider, amused and bemused by how the female mind works, as usual!, 15:11:09 10/15/04 Fri [1]

...a gift from one kindred student of "bugs" to another (and not bunnies, either!). What you see as non-parental concern, I see as concern for a member of the only family he has. As proof, I cite last night's beginning of concern for Catherine's problem, which if it continues, I'll bet we see more such Grissom concern.

[> [> [> [> *rubs hands in glee* I LOVE concerned Grissom! (Heck, I love Grissom in ANY mood, but that's not the point.) I have no problem with his concern for Cath and Lindsey... he's known them since before Eddie and Catherine split up. No doubt he cares for them both, as you said, in a "family" type way. I just see his interest/attention/care/whatever you want to call it toward Sara is in a different light. -- DJEgirl... who enjoyed the ep last night. Yep, I'll bet she was a fairly brilliant 7th-grader. He would've been an absolute whiz., 18:46:27 10/15/04 Fri [1]
