Jump Shot - Has shown much consistency the first two tourneys with the Illinois Fire. Defense - The "He can't guard anyone" statement makes me wonder why he has drawn the toughest offensive player this spring every game. I thought he did a great job on Keith Brumbaugh from Florida and Greg Paulus from New York at Kingwood. Two of the top offensive players in 2005. Plus, he's averaged 3 steals a game the past two years and was at least that through this spring. These kind of stats do not denote a poor defensive player. Rebounding - I don't think there is a better rebounding 2-guard in the country. Toughness - Again, there isn't a tougher player in the country. Leadership - He is a proven winner and leads by example with how hard he plays. Intangibles - First at practice, last to leave. The fact that he has improved most "weaknesses" of his game from year to year. Casey, I'm just seeing a trend of people who tend to over analyze players and draw a conclusion based on what they think should happen. For example, I've seen Minnoy give 30-35 points in more than one AAU game with Julian Wright guarding him, but I never read that Julian is a poor defensive player. With high major colleges offering full scholarships to him, do they think he can't guard anyone either? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
