Subject: A new Sunbury Centre

It's probably about time that some announcement was made on the future of the Sunbury Centre. Eee, I hope someone makes one soon!

Oh alright, the truth is that myself and BrianW have been working on a new site for a little while and we're hoping to get it live at some point in the not so distant future. Without giving too much away, we're hoping to have some 'content' on the site before going live so bear with us for a little longer.

It's great to see that we've had a few offers for contributions of match reports already from those that have heard on the grapevine that a new Sunbury Centre is coming and Cath has also assisted by contributing some stuff. Once live we'll be looking for more contributions from anyone with an inclination to do so.

To give you a flavour of the new site, it is mainly based around a new messageboard as there is a 'General Messageboard' which will require registration (guests can read the site but will need to be members to post) and other things such as the features, reviews and reports will take the form of 'posts' on a locked area of the site easily accessible from the general area.

Anyway, I'm hopeful that when it is launched the new SC will be a great resource for London Irish Supporters, as the old SC was.

Excellent news DP. I told you you were the right man!

I have no doubt you will be a sage and wise Editor, and employ a "light touch" approach in the way which we have been accustomed to on the SC.

That is excellent news, well done to one and all; you have a very hard act to follow as Co-Editors. Can I just ask that the new SC is not a slimmed down version of the broadsheet we have become used to, I can’t get used to the baby broadsheet that has suddenly become popular.

Bravo Senor.
Maximum content please. It stops the children squabbling if they are entertained.
I hope the site will include links to those wonderful tries that you have delighted us with.

Excellent news !
Registration required, broadsheet values, personal messages in latin......just the ticket for the wider LI community. Well done.

As far as content is concerned, myself and Brian will do what we can but in all fairness we're techies so we will be relying heavily on contributions. So in that respect the 'regulars' on the site will in a way get to decide the direction, but I'm reluctant to label it as 'broadsheet' ... unless you want to say that it is the back pages or sports section of a broadsheet (there is always room on messageboards and sites for 'Off Topic' stuff though). I'm hopeful that the sound of rugby chatter will drown out the sound of personalities clashing.

James, I haven't been to Michigan (a quick google tells me the meaning of the latin phrase and that it is the state's motto), but I think that Esse Quam Videri (NC - "to be rather than to seem"), Crescit Eundo (New Mex - "it grows as it goes") and maybe Ense Petit Placidam Sub Libertate Quietem (Mass. - "With the sword she seeks peace under liberty" - depending on the colour of the sword?) might be suitable mottoes.

For the rugby clips, I'm still pondering that one as I don't want copyright issues on the site ... I might have to seek advice first.

Dom,

We look forward to seeing the new SC up and running. It'll be hard work, but worth it.

If only websites could update themselves.

Jonny, friends with the Schwarzenberg family? Nothing but Justice

username, there are reasons behind the registration requirement and it's nowt to do with cliquey-ness if that's what you are suggesting. If people want to contribute then they have to register - it's not a big deal really is it?

dom_pedro,

Saw it on a crest in St Vitus' Cathedral, Prague.
My schoolboy humour was questioning the display of rectum in church.

Is the rectum a part of a church? The back door perhaps, where the choirboys ... errr on second thoughts lets not go there.
