Germany Name Alex deCillia
The General Assembly
The effect that Percentage of people with access to adequate sanitation has on the world.

The General Assembly,

Realizing that all people in the world have the right to be able to live with proper sanitation, Germany is stepping forward to say that this must stop now, and efforts must be made to improve the lifestyles of many countries,

Aware that in the past Germany has not had a problem with this, because Germany has taken the proper steps to insuring adequate sanitation for all its citizens, but in nations of Africa and Asia the people are constantly getting sick because of the low percentage of available sanitation,

I. Expresses Deep Concern

(A) The very important nation of China has only 40% of their population using adequate sanitation and its neighbor country South Korea only has 63% of its people using adequate sanitation;

(B) The result of this is that those people are not able to work, because many times they are sick, and they then are not able to produce for their family, which hurts there children and the community;

(C) The country of Germany is afraid that not every person of these smaller countries can afford anything to provide themselves and their families with the proper sanitation equipment;

II. Is Aware That

(A) As the years pass, more and more deaths are resulting from no access to proper sanitation and not many steps are being taken to help the people out;

(B) Recognizes that the UN has discussed this topic and is working to help out the countries, but so far it has not worked well enough;

(C) Is aware that many small non profit organizations have been working so hard to improve the lives of these people, they are what keeps many of these people alive, and Germany has a great deal of respect for those people.

III Recommends

(A) That the UN:

1. Continue to set up groups that are solely devoted to solving the problem of how to provide all these people with adequate sanitation;

2. Continues to fund the existing groups that have already been set up to fight this issue;

3. Set up a council, that will determine the amount of money each year spent on this topic;

4. Build small buildings that provide all the proper sanitation for all the people of the town, in the third world countries;

5. Set up a UN team that is devoted to teaching leaders of the small nations how important it really is to have proper sanitation;

6. Makes sure that all countries are on the same page and working together to eliminate this problem;

7. Proposes a treaty that assures all nations the proper amount of money needed to help them become healthier nations.
