I too have experienced the same problem as you. My hair was actually burnt by the crimper at the roots. Thus, you can imagine having how difficult it was as I could not chop the whole thing away.

My hair was also very coarse and the ends was very fizzy. Thus, at that time I have tried many porfessional hair product and I think the brand Kaedatabase is good. The hair mask actually helps to soften the hair.

I also went for a hair-cut several times until finally the ends were sniped off.

I have actually read this in a mag. The ends needs extra care as it is the oldest, thus maybe you can apply stonger products at the ends.
