Cin, I don't think anyone is dismissing the feelings of others unless you count us ALL. Just because I'm white doesn't mean I don't have feelings. There's been some pretty harsh words here.
You may not believe this, probably you won't, but I have no racist leanings at all. I count among my friends, close and otherwise, people of all races. But I will say that never has it occurred to me to apologize to anyone because they don't happen to be white. If I did apologize to anybody I know for their past tough life, they would roll on the floor laughing.
Among the people of other races I know that would be condescending and insulting. They have pride in their personal accomplishments and they do not give credit to anyone if they succeed, and God knows they do not blame anyone if they fail.
That's real life IMO.
