I don't think this has anything to do with our government. While parties investigating the contributions seemed overboard, he did have his people make contributions, he did reimbursement them with him monies. You can't tell me that a person of Geoff's intelligence (and that comes into question at times) that he didn't know this was illegal. I'm pretty darn sure he did, and he just didn't think he'd get found out. I know Spence was a good lawyer, but hardly practices now (he's up there in years) but some of his actions in this court case don't have me too sure of his skills.
