Millions & more are diverted from so many healthcare facilities, etc. to pay for politicians "pork barrel" projects (the bridge to nowhere comes to mind), and to line their own pockets!! Some of their attitudes appear to be "who cares?"
I worked for 12 yrs. as a certified addiction counselor at a residential treatment center in the area & have watched & heard how the "low end indigent & mentally ill" clients were treated, esp. in our detox unit!!! I observed clients being mistreated, laughed at & when the client "threatened to report the treatment, they were told "who'd believe you?"
They didn't believe her, but they believed me when I reported staffs' behavior to our superviser!!! The blood (mine) was in the shark pool!!!!! I proceeded very carefully after that!!!! Makes my blood boil to see people "designated as worthless non-entities who have no rights & no voice & who cares?" I DO!!! I changed locations of employment a few times and then I quit/retired whatever because I couldn't be at peace with myself if I'd stayed!!!!!
