Here we go again. Every election year, whether it is Mayor or Governor he says he is "thinking of running." In my opinion, he will never ever be governor. He has more chance at Mayor or Detroit, but still that might be a hard sell. My all my years running this site, and talking with people, Geoff is disliked more than he is liked. In my opinion, give it up Geoff! Stay a lawyer it is what works out most favorably for you!
Ex-Kevorkian Lawyer May Run for Governor
Wednesday, May 4, 2005
The former attorney for assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian said Wednesday that he is thinking of running again for governor.
Geoffrey Fieger unexpectedly won the 1998 Democratic gubernatorial primary largely based on his popularity in heavily Democratic Detroit. But Republican Gov. John Engler easily beat him 62 percent to 38 percent
This time, he would face Gov. Jennifer Granholm in next year's Democratic primary.
"The only way I would run is if I thought she was going to lose" the 2006 election to a Republican, Fieger said.
Chris De Witt, political spokesman for the Granholm campaign, indicated the governor doesn't believe Fieger will run.
"It would be fair to say that, be it Geoffrey Fieger or anyone else, she doesn't anticipate having any primary opposition," De Witt said.
Fieger also said he considered running for Detroit mayor this year, but the timing wasn't right because he wanted to spend time with his family and one of his law partners had died recently.Give it up Geoff, stay a lawyer, it is what you are best at!
