I had a Norman Rockwell thanksgiving. Everything went smoothly. Except for the fact that there were about fifty people there. To give you an example of how crazy it was - my sister Ammie's ex-husband's ex-wife and her new husband showed up. Mm-hmm. Turns out, another one of my sisters had invited him (no one stepped up to take the blame, but the ex-hubby said it was "one of the girls" who'd done the inviting). Anyway, he told the sister who'd invited him that he'd been having his ex-wife over for Thanksgiving ever since he and Annamarie split (the ex-hubby and his ex-wife had been married before he and Ammie had.) Still with me? Good. Anyway, one thing led to another, and the ex-wife was invited. Of course, she *had* to bring her new mooch of a husband. And his three kids. And her mother. And the ex-hubby’s and the ex-wife’s two kids. And o’course Ammie’s kids were there. And her new bf. And his kid. And my sister’s bf’s. And Ste’s fiancee. And her daughter. And ‘Lij, the evil wife, and their kids. And my aunt, my uncle, his new wife, and her kids. All FIVE of them.

Other than that, it went great. Oh, wait, except for the fact that the turkey didn’t get cooked, and we ended up eating late (we were going to eat at 3, but ended up eating at about 5-6.) We ended up nuking individual plates in the micro. And my mum’s veggie plate went over famously. Until Ammie’s ex’s mother announced that she’d lost one of her capped teeth, and hoped that it hadn’t landed in the dip. Bleh.

Oh, and the pies burnt. And all the kids started screaming at the top of their lungs when the smoke alarms went off.

And yes, Ste started singing to the bird again. Like you didn’t already know he would.

The fam took it well. Better than expected, except for my brother’s, who took it worse than expected, if that’s possible. I’d rather not talk about it.

Other than that, it went wonderfully.

>Carla baked made this beautiful, golden turkey. Yum!
>It was fantastic. And, Andrew was there, 'cuz his
>kids are with their mom for the holiday., so that
>was...real. lol

Sounds nice.

>So, wbs and let me know how things went and how yer
>doing? I don't know if my coming over and hanging out
>with you was helpful today or not, but I enjoyed
>hanging with you. It's funny. We didn't get much
>chit-chat convo in today. lol Guess there was too
>much other stuff to talk about, but glad we saved
>something to talk about while I'm on this long fucking
>flight, right? lol

I'm doing great. Perfect. Except that Derek is refusing to take my phone calls. Other than that, I had a wonderful holiday. Really. Wonderful.
