From what I read in Pam's post, it is not so much that the hacker was caught... it is the server's auto-protection mechanism kicking in to shut down all e-mail contacts so as to contain the hacking and not let it spread further.

Kudos to Pam, Scott and Josh for the foresight to set it up.
