Subject: sonsa v.2 bright night

After seven hundred turns of calm, Thread has once again come to plague the planet Pern. Dragonriders have rose to meet the cause, but paid a high price. Four of the seven weyrs were destroyed, taking many of the dragonriders and some of the much needed and now extremely rare queens with them. The remaining dragonriders evacuated to Fort, High Reaches and Southern Weyrs, with the remains of their holds heading to the remaining weyrs’ holds. Queens, the mothers of all the dragons on Pern, were growing older and failing to produce any more golds or opals. Even beryls were infrequent. Then the white-gold Fayneth was produced and everything after that was all history from there, including the establishment of a new weyr, Sonsa.

Now, even though Threadfalls are erratic and queens still infrequent, Pern is coping. Riders rise to meet every fall and bronze, silver and brown dragons rise to chase every remaining queen. Every thing has been quiet for now, but things are normally never lower than a dull roar here with Threadfall, plots and plenty of surprises around the bend. Could you be the one to turn the quiet into a scream?
