Subject: Don't Go Chasing Rainbows

Elizabeth didn't care that she was the only one in the park. She felt like being alone. Aloofness was the way of life now. Her feet thumped almost inaudibly against the thick wooden docks, and she stooped over to gently caress one of the flowers that bloomed there. Things like this helped her to forget - forget that she wasn't chosen. She knew that the Indigo's often asked why. Why were they chosen? She remembered her little sister Jamie, a long time ago:
Elizabeth? Why did God pick me?

Why did God choose who He chose to be who they were? Elizabeth also asked why. Why wasn't she chosen, when both her sister and brother were given the gift? She didn't understand it. She understood so little of her life that it made no sense. Sure, she could recognize things and seemingly know someone's intentions just by looking at them, but didn't every human have some psychic ability? Even if it was so subtle it may never surface? She didn't want to be normal. She hated normality. She wanted to...
With a groan Elizabeth realized she'd been thinking about it again. The flowers, once beautiful and soft, suddenly seemed to wither into gnarled, water-starved weeds and she turned away from them, burying her head in her folded knees as she sat down.
- My life is a lie. -
