Subject: Rescued Photo Archie & Bertie BECHTEL, Ontario

As a hobby, I rescue old photographs from auctions and antique shops. Part of the requirement for rescue, is it has to have identification of at least, the subject/s in the photo. Place and dates are a plus, but not necessary.

I recently obtained a photograph from Ontario. The subjects in the photo were identified as Archie and Bertie Bechtel. He's dressed in a over coat, with a bowler/derby style hat. She has a large brim hat on and long coat, over her Victorian style dress. They're a very handsome couple.

I went to the BECHTEL page at GenForum and found where there was a family of BECHTEL's in Grand Rapids, MI and they had ties to Ontario. I grew up in the Grand Rapids area and did go to school with a couple of girls, who's last name was BECHTEL.

My wish it to get this into the hands of a family member who will appreciate this treasure. All I ask for it, is what I have invested, cost for a sturdy mailer, to keep it safe in the mail and postage.

This old photo is in excellent shape. My guess is late 1800s, possibly very early 1900s. Whoever wrote their names, did so with pen and ink.

I can be reached at: digginroots@yahoo.com

Kathy
