Subject: || don't play with fire ||

The echoing sounds of rats scurrying past heavy footsteps and sloshing water and other liquids was unnerving to most, but Will had been traveling these sewers for most of his 13 years of life. In times of great danger they were places to hide that few would venture to, to some they were a home, but to most they were just a dank and foul place that shouldn’t be discussed in polite conversations. But William Leverett tried his best not to have any polite conversations.

He was a skinny black-haired, blue-eyed boy, handsome face smudged with mud that he had not bothered to waste clean water on. His old sneakers hit the cement edge softly as he casually made his way through the dark tunnels. Normally it would be darker, but the blue-black glow of William’s flame lit the path. He held the glowing ball of light in one hand in front of him, every once in a while tossing it around like a toy.

The boy hated going out in public. He had to be careful, unlike the Lightworkers, he had no protecting crystal to control his power. He shook his head, muttering out loud: the Lightworkers were pathetic, soft-hearted fools. They were going to get themselves all killed if they thought they could live in the world without being prosecuted. Some sort of action had to be taken, and they were more than capable of sending the Normals into exile. Let them have a taste of the street-life. He chuckled with his own jokes and continued on his way.
