Appearance: Sleek elbow length black hair with one small blue streak and bright silver eyes. Has a small gold loop in her left ear and a dangly silver crescent moon in the right ear.
Personality: Amari is an optimist. She tries to see the good side of everything. Still, that doesn't mean she's a ditzy happy-go-lucky person. Armed with sarcasm when necessary and wit, she can take care of herself...at least verbally. There are moments when she withdraws into herself.

Amari sat on a sturdy limb of her favorite climbing tree and bit her lower lip in thought. Were Indigos really as bad as people made them out to be? She had started wondering about this because of recent events. The family next door to her had had two children, a little girl and an older boy.

Little ten year old Amari peeked out from behind her mother as she watched the mover carry boxes into the formerly empty house next door. As she scanned the new family that was moving in, her eyes immediately brightened seeing to kids around her own age. Smiling cheerfully, she went over to them.
��Hi! My name's Amari, I'm your new neighbor, what're your names?�� The girl responded. ��My name's Lilia and this is my brother Scott.�� Scott just looked at her and said coldly, ��I don't waste my time with little kids like you,�� and with that he turned and went to the house. Amari just looked after him with a confused expression on her face. ��Did I do something wrong?�� Lilia just shook her head slightly with a sad smile.
��No, he's always like that.�� She sighed. ��He used to be nice but after his thirteenth birthday he became....mean.��
��Okay, I didn't really get that but...hey!�� Amari looked excitedly at Lilia. ��You want to come over?�� Sure!��

Scott had never warmed up to her but Lilia and she had remained friends for the past seven years. But then things started to happen. Last month, fires had sprung up around Lilia. They were small but didn't escape notice. Amari had tried to help Lilia hide her....problem for the lack of a better word but she was found out and turned in. What shocked her though was that Scott, her own brother had been the one to turn her in! Last week she had seen Lilia for the first time since she had been taken away and the sight had frightened her. When she greeted her, it was like she didn't hear her and when she looked into her eyes, they were empty. She shuddered, the memory of those chilling blank eyes still sent shivers down her back. How could someone have destroyed a bright and happy girl, turning her into that hollow shell?
Everyone said Indigos were evil and bad but Lilia hadn't had a bad bone in her body. Three days ago, Lilia had died. Died because of what someone had done to her, simply because she was something they didn't understand.
Amari lightly jumped off the branch since it wasn't that high up. As she went inside her house, her curiosity about Indigo's grew.
