>>> The brahmins descendants from Lahiri Mahasaya also were/are critical of Sri Yukteswar and Paramhansa Yogananda's ways, and both were kshatriyas. <<<

I am sure, they both went thru some sort of prosecution directly or indirectly. As I understand, Sri Yukteshwarji took sanyasa so he can bring about some changes in the existing condition. Because, when some one becomes a monk, one relinquishes his/her caste. And monks are generally taken seriously.

If you investigate the entire eastern tradition originating from Indian Continent, It is the Kshatriyas who came to rescue for the downtrodden ones. Buddha, Bhagavan Mahavir, Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, Vivekanada , all the Tirthankara of Jain traditions were all kshatriyas.

Typical Brahmins by nature are very possessive of their possession of spiritual knowledge, techniques whatever you call. They, so-called Brahmins, are a good repository akin to computerized database for the knowledge; not necessarily enlightened. No doubt, they are very talented. Whether they can impart enlightenment to masses that is out of question. It takes a strong warrior to let go of his or her possessions – the very love of life for that matter - for the better of the humanity including the spiritual knowledge of liberation as well. They fear of NOTHING. For that very reason, there a sort of unspoken movement for annihilation of Brahmins in some parts of India.

Brahmanism was kind of created to support their subtle ego to manipulate the masses. It was an Economics Machine for the COMFORTABLE survival of a particular group rather than any spiritual connotation. When Buddha rejected the ritualistic religion, it directly impacted the pockets of brahmins and so Buddhist monks were killed. Also, Jain monks and scholars were executed for not supporting the existing religious establishment and also rejecting a separate existence of GOD entity. Yes, it is true that the Hindus destroyed Buddhist temples. Finally, the buddhist tenants were firmly and deeply established in other countries. Jainism survived at a very low percentage only because, Mahavir continue to use the word Atman - but not in the same sense as Hindus did.

When I was a teenager, I used to visit a Brahmin scholar and one day, something came up about Jainas and Buddhist. So he warned me to stay away from that religion and quoted a sloka, which meant, “ it would be better to die under the feet of an elephant rather than to see a face of Buddhist or Jain.” But, ironically, it made me very curious and as a matter of fact, I am very much impressed with their fundamental tenants.

I am born into Hindu faith so, this is an objective observation and have done detailed studies of these aspects just out of curiosity.
