A SRF monk told me a nice thing Rajarsi used to say: go to the ocean for healing of the body, the mountains for the mind, and the desert for the soul.

Yogananda, Rajarsi and Doctor Lewis all went to the desert at the end of their lives for seclusion and meditation. The silence there is intense. Rajarsi and Doctor had owned their own retreats.
