I was referred to a rheumatologist due to my fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. The rheumatologist was a woman so I thought she would understand my plight and be sympathetic. Ha! She didn't understand my plight nor was she sympathetic because she didn't care.

She told me that my symptoms were all in my head and, I needed a good massage from my husband. She didn't even bother to ask me if I was married (I'm not). I also asked her to explain my positive ANA test and elevated sed. rate but she just brushed that off. She didn't take the time to get to know me or what my issues were. During my visit with her, she was busy tooting her horn about being a rheumatologist. I thought that if this is what it means to be a rheumatologist, she had nothing to brag about.

Needless to say, I never went back to her and I pity those who have suffered through appointments with her. Who knows? Maybe she is good for some patients but, she wasn't good for me. She is one rheumatologist that I don't ever care to see again.
