In reply to: JJ Ronda--a lot of what's on these days isn't good anyway, IMO. I'm down to just three regular shows I watch. 's message, "I usually say "I don't watch MUCH TV" and there's a big difference. And I'm usually saying it when people are asking if I've seen a certain commercial and I don't know what they're talking about. Then I shrug and say "Well I don't watch much TV". I've begun to realise that it doesn't matter what people do to unwind and entertain themselves, as long as they are doing no harm (no pun intended.) For example, I love almost all genres of music, but have a particular love of opera. I know that it's an esoteric genre and don't expect everyone else to love it, if they've never had much exposure. But I also like hip-hop and heavy metal rock, and it drives me nuts when fellow opera/classical lovers, dismiss these other forms from a place of snobbery, not just a difference in taste. Of course, that does not mean we can't express our different opinions and tastes in friendly conversations.

It is a tiresome cliche to say that life is short, except it's true. Let people enjoy themselves in whatever way they can. You can bet that no one out there is free of worries and fears, so who can deny anyone the right to also get some enjoyment in life in whatever way they choose?

Confession time: I have been horribly guilty of being a culture snob at times in my life, including on this board, for which I am ashamed. It is always hurtful, particularly if the criticism is aimed at an entertainment form someone else loves.
