  • I agree with what your saying to some degree. Its more of an issue of different vehicle class though. You dont see the fastest import drag cars running top fuel funny cars. How about we handicap the domestics by engine size. 1 second per liter of displacement. If you have a 5 liter small block and your racing a 2.5 liter import then the domestic has to win by 2.5 seconds. That would be 1 way to level the playing field. • Im not too familiar with the Top Notch Crue but from what I gather from them ALMOST ALL of them haul ass. Look at Z-Boost, I've seen him, on many occasions, smoke LS1's. I really don't think those guys need any type of handicap. And there are more imports that have the same #'s.   • Zboost is also a 3.0 ltr V6 w/ turbo.. that car would only get about a 1 or 1.5 second handicap which would put it in line with similarly modded LS1's. Right now he's beating LS1's that arent modded as much as his car. Anyhow, I'm not saying my handicap numbers are the right ones to use, I was just giving you a suggestion. Getting an import to run under 10seconds requires alot more work than getting a LS1 to run under 10. Lets take Top Notch's hatch for instance when he ran his 11.4 - Gutted and lightened, motor swap, and a race head, 150 shot. If you had a LS1, gutted and lightened, with heads and running a 300shot (4 more cyl right) then you'd probably be in the 9s easy. Displacement plays a big role, thats how most of the classes are setup and if you want to race different classes of vehicles then you have to handicap somehow. We just dont have all that many 12 second and faster cars but there are a lot of 12 - 15 second cars around here that regularly hand V8 cars their asses.
