* Going against my own guidelines with this one as I want poems written speciifically for the challenges but this is a poem that I wrote for a friend who I fell in love with........... ;-) I love him to this day although the friendship was tested and failed.........

Fine Little Lines

So we stand at an impasse
and I could pretend nothing happened,
if not for the detachment
that leaves me so cold.
How vain I was to believe
that I could fill some void,
how selfish to expect
that you would fill mine.
These emotions you speak of,
they're so hard to define,
just fine little lines,
that were regretfully crossed.
I too, am sorry.
