Hey everyone! Lately I've been getting a lot of forwarded emails from well-meaning friends regarding holiday cards for recovering vets at Walter Reed. I've seen a couple different versions but the general gist is that they tell you to simply address the cards to "Any Recovering Solider" at the Center.

While the intenion behind this idea is great, I would hate to see your efforts go to waste, so please be aware that there is NO SUCH PROGRAM in place. Due to security concerns, for the safety of the patients and staff of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, these "Any Solider"-type cards WILL NOT be accepted. The US Post Office has even stopped carrying them- they will be returned to sender or simply discarded. We have to understand that there are those out there in the world who might do harm to our troops if given the opportunity, so these security measures are in place to protect them.

The good news, however, is that the Red Cross has partnered with Pitney Bowers to sponsor a program called "Holiday Mail for Heroes." The premise is very similar- and cards will be sent not only to recovering vets at Walter Reed, but also to active-duty military personnel stationed in the US and abroad, veterans AND their families. Same concept, and you can rest assured your good intentions will not go to waste. Here's the kicker: they need to be postmarked by December 10th. Anything sent after this date will be returned to you.

Mailing address:
Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

This program is for CARDS ONLY. You cannot insert photos, gift cards or phone cards into the greeting cards. Those items can be sent through: http://www.aafes.com/
Care packages can be sent through www.AmericaSupportsYou.com

Hope that helps. Thanks for thinking of our servicemembers and their families this holiday season!

A hearty thanks to Kay, the Queens, the Town of Hannibal, the Mighty Mississippi River, and the good Lord above for serving up a fine day at the 32nd annual Autumn Historic Folklife Festival yesterday (Saturday, 10-18-08)! The sun was shining, the river sparkled, and everyone (especially my girl, Sarah, and me) had a fabulous day. We were all treated early on with a photo op at the Welcome Center with "Tom and Becky," continued on to the thrill of touring the Mark Twain Cave, and lunch and autograph signing downtown at the festival. The Mark Twain Riverboat cruise was charmed with blue skies, smooth water, beautiful views and delightful conversations. The day was capped off with a hearty meal and merriment at the Golden Corral steakhouse. We hated to say goodbye, but the road home called. Thanks to all for a fabulously fun day...we'll see you again soon! (p.s. Interestingly I didn't dream about "pickles on a stick" last night!)

Hello everyone, Hannah(Pre-Teen Missouri Outdoors) and I had a wonderful time the weekend of the 27th during Mt. View's Pioneer Days. We were in the parade and was honored to ride in the 911 memorial truck provided by the Phelps County Sheriff's Department. Hannah and I had a blast walking around and talking with all the people of Mt. View, the support from the community was wonderful. We were also honored to have dinner with Hunter Specialties Pro Staff member Alex Rutledge and his family. Alex is a wonderful and very supportive person and invited me to come to any of his hunting forums and talk about the Miss Missouri Outdoors Pageant. Alex's wife informed me of a new program around the Birch Tree area that is for younger children in the outdoors and getting them involved in conservation. As soon as she sends me the information I will let everyone know.
Still having a blast and living each day to the fulliest.

Hugs to everyone,
Rachel Lucas

Subject: A Day with Kindergarteners!

On Tuesday September 23rd, I volunteered to help with Kindergarteners from our local elementary school. We took a trip to see the local Library, Post Office, & Fire Station.
It was so much fun seeing these little guys be amazed at some of the things that we take for granted in seeing everyday. For some of them, it was their very 1st time going to these places.
We took a tour behind the scenes of "how a post office runs". I myself had never been behind the post office front counter! So this was really neat to see for myself too! Then, each child got to personally mail off a letter that they had wrote to someone.
At the library, we learned where we can find things and where the children's section was. This was my first time to the Sullivan library too! We listened to 2 fun books during "Story Time".
As we got to the firestation, there was an actual real fire call, that was coming in at that very minute!
How exciting! I, myself have never seen a real live fire call in action before! We watched how quickly the firefighters got dressed and zoomed off on the loud engires, as the sirens went off. We then watched a fire safety video and seen a fire truck up close.
After that excitement, we went to the park for a pizza party. I got to help serve pizza to 30 little hungry Kindergarteners. After that, they all wanted me to play with them at the park. I pushed them on swings, and went down slides too. We had so much fun!
Sometimes I forget what it's like to be carefree again, and just enjoy childhood adventures. I am thankful I had the opportunity to volunteer my time to help out our local school. A day with these Kindergarteners, was a day I will always remember. They truly made me feel like a kid again; and forget about work, the financial troubles, worries, & stress of adult life. I plan on going to their school again in a few months to read some storybooks to them in their classrooms.
I encourage everyone to volunteer some time at your local elementary school and just spend some time with these little ones. It is not only an experience for them, but for you as well! They will be our future leaders of tomorrow. Let's make a good example and a positive impact on their life!

Talk about unique! This was truly an amazing event I will never forget but, more importantly our two beautiful "2009 Little Princess" Winners, Aubrey Pedrin and Kayleigh Jones, will always remember as well!

Marceline, Missouri is Walt Disney's hometown. Each year they hold this celebration called "TOONFEST" where cartoonists and vendors come from all around the United States to display their work. Best of all, it is geared for the kids! They have a PRINCESS TEA PARTY for the little girls and a PIRATE ADVENTURE for the little boys. There is also a "Kids Zone" with games and a bouncy blow-up for the kids to jump in. There is also music, food, fun, and the Walt Disney museum. Let's not forget about the parade too! There is a special "PRINCESS FLOAT" for all of the pretty princesses to ride on, and a "PIRATE" float for the little mateys.

On Saturday September 20th, I was given the very important job as the one and only, "HEAD REGISTRATION QUEEN". Immediately after getting done from the parade, I had a long line of 70+ Moms & little girls dressed as princesses waiting just for me. I had the amazing opportunity to register 72 little princesses for the annual TEA PARTY! It was crazy, but fun! It was so awesome to hear these little girls say to me, "Wow, are you a real princess?", and "You look pretty, I like your dress." Later on, one of the "Fairy God-Mothers in training", (the adult queens that help inside the tea party tent), came out to tell me that a little girl had asked to her, "How come your crown is so little?, The other queen out front has alot Bigger Crown than yours." The fairy godmother told her it was because I had earned mine, and she had just bought hers at the store. The little girl was so cute, the lady said she had to be honest. Kids say the funniest things.

The Princess Tea Party was for girls ages 3-8 only. They all had to line up like they were at a "Royal Ball" and wait for their named to be announced in front of the entire crowd. As each of their names were called individually, they were personally escorted by the "handsome dukes" in tuxedos. They were led into the Special Tea Party Tent with the "Fairy God-Mothers" in training. Once inside the tent, NO PARENTS were allowed at all! They had to be "A Big Girl Princess" all on their own. Only the few Fairy God-Mothers were allowed to be inside with them. But, it was really neat to see how they reacted, (without Mommy), and with all of the other little princesses at their table. There were 6 tables set up with 4 little chairs at each one. Luckily, Aubrey and Kayleigh got to sit at the same table together. They ate cupcakes and drank juice for their "tea". They got to talk to the other princesses at their table too, (But, I have no clue what they told everybody). 30 minutes later, after finishing their "tea & crumpets"/"gab" session, they were escorted out of the tent and received a goody bag filled with "Princess prizes" inside. They were also presented with a beautiful certificate stating that they had completed their "Princess Training" at this very special tea party", held in Marceline on Sept 20th at Toonfest. When we got home, we framed it & hung it in her room. Everyday she sees it and still talks about "Her very 1st Princess Tea Party".

Aubrey Pedrin - 2009 Little Princess Missouri Outdoors &
Kayleigh Jones - 2009 Little Princess Show Me Missouri, were the only two State Queens that had the chance to take part in this exciting event this year, as well as myself. So, we nicknamed ourselves, "The 3 Musketeers".

I am very proud of these two beautiful little girls as they showed majestic demeanor representing as true princesses, as little as they are. They were so adorable and have become "BEST BUDS". Keep an eye out for their picture coming soon to the Rolla Daily Newspaper. Also, please check out the 2009missourioutdoors.freehomepage.com for the TOONFEST pictures from Marceline of "the 3 Musketeers". :)

Next year I would like to see all of our "little girl state queens" ages 3-8, Including Last Year's Girls as well, to participate in this. They will all truly enjoy this event! We had such a blast! I am thankful that Aubrey & Kayleigh had the chance to take part in this amazing experience and make some memories together. We really missed going to the MTA with everyone else, but for our two "Little Princess" 2009 State Queens, to have the opportunity to experience this, it was definately well worth it! We will be attending again next year without a doubt!

Check out the Cuba newspaper today and there you will find me waving to the crowd, while riding in a parade with Kayleigh Jones - 2009 Little Princess Show Me Missouri, as we head the parade royalty. You will also find many other pictures from the Bourbon Fall Festival, Parade, and Jr. Miss Bourbon Pageant as well. My mom seen my picture in the newspaper today and I didn't even know it had been taken! The Cuba Free Press had taken pictures of the Bourbon Fall Festival and Parade held on Friday night September 19th, where we had the chance to take part in a wonderful event! This was the very first year we have ever attended the Bourbon Fall Festival, Parade, & Jr. Miss Bourbon Pageant, and we will definately be back again for next year! The theme this year was "Get your Kicks on Route 66". It kicked off with the parade at 6pm. The Bourbon Boosters head this festival and they asked if we would personally ride on their parade float with their Bourbon Royalty. We felt very special, as we were the first vehicle behing the Grand Marshall at the front of the parade. After the parade, the festivities began at 7 pm with the Jr. Miss Bourbon "Opening Dance Number", (which I had the exciting chance of personally teaching the contestants.) It started to rain on us, but the girls continued on with their dance, making me very proud. They had practiced very hard. The crowning was then at 8pm where I personally got to emcee some of the pageant, help hand out the certificate awards to the contestants, and speak about the Miss Missouri Outdoors Pageant and what we represent and do throughout the year as we travel. Kayleigh Jones - 2009 Little Princess Show Me Missouri, was announced as a special guest and sang her favorite song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in front of the entire crowd. She was presented a trophy for helping out at the pageant practices. I was then given a certificate and plaque award, presented to me by the Jr. Miss Bourbon Pageant Director for volunteering my hard work, time, and dedication to helping out with their pageant. I was so excited! I didn't know I was getting an award too! We had a great time and it was neat having these girls ask me for advice on how to do pageant stuff. They really made me feel important. It will be an honor to help out and take part in this event next year. I can't wait! We welcome and would love to have some of the outdoors queens make an appearance and be a special guest at this event next year.

If you are a fan of horror films, then you would have loved being with me today. R.A. Mihailoff, aka "Leatherface", from the move Texas Chainsaw Massacre III was at the One Stop Costume Shop in Rolla. He was signing autographs. He took time out to take a photo with me, one normal, and the other with him terrorizing the Queen. He is very tall, but seemed like a gentle giant. It was a lot of fun. I think that I could play the damsel in distress. Maybe that will be my next venture.

The Grape & Fall Festival was held in St. James on Sept. 6. I attended and rode in the parade with Tanna Collins with my son & bodyguard, Cody McKeever as our driver. After the parade we visited the street vendors. The highlight of the day was when we were in a grape stomping contest. My cup of juice was only a hairline less than the girl who won. I stomped my hardest. Tanna won a bottle of grape juice for her "stomping style."

On Sept. 20th, Ms. Show Me Missouri, Tanna Collins and I traveled to the MTA. We had never been to Cape Girardeau and were very excited to be there. It is beautiful. The mural on the wall was really something to see. It was the first time that so many of us gathered since being crowned, big smiles everywhere. The trappers are always a blast to see. I enjoyed helping with the auction. But I always love being in fur. Thank you to Kevin, Troy, and Freddie for all of your support. We wouldn't be who we are without you.

On Thursday September 18th, we had the chance to attend "Critter Rock". It was presented by THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION and performed by "WildHeart", at the Sullivan Performing Arts Theatre. Critter Rock is "conservation education entertainment", and it can be described as "A jammin' way to experience nature". This amazing couple, (Jan & George Syrigos), and their daughter, sang songs about animals to teach kids all about nature in a very cool way. The kids got to go on stage as volunteers and pretended to be different bugs and animals. It was a very neat show to experience. To download some of their conservation nature songs, you can go to http://music.msn.com and http://towerrecords.com

Today was extremely exciting! I had the chance to attend the Stage 5 Start of the "Tour of Missouri" in St. James. The Stage 5 Finish will be in Jefferson City. It was so incredibly neat getting to meet these professional cyclists as they conquer the Midwest. There was an "autograph alley" at the starting line, vendors, Bluegrass music, the "Grape Stomp", Kid's Zone, Unique Shops, Wineries, and the Winning Floats from last weekend's Grape & Fall Fesival Parade. There was so much to do! I had the chance to personally meet and get some pictures with a couple of the cyclists, the "Tour of Missouri" official truck, the yellow "pace car" guy, some volunteers, their very own gorgeous "Tour of Missouri" Queens, and me at the official "Starting Line"! It was truly an event that I'll never forget, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience it!

After winning Mrs. Show Me Missouri, I have been given a wonderful opportunity. Just last week, a lady from the "Bourbon Boosters", (a non-profit community group for the city of Bourbon), heard about me and asked if I would help them with their Jr. Miss Bourbon Pageant. Of course I said, "I would love to!" She then asked if I would attend their pageant pizza party and choreograph an opening dance number for the contestants. So, last night September 11th, I drove to Bourbon, MO. and worked 2 hours with these beautiful young ladies, teaching and helping them for their pageant. A newspaper journalist came out and took our pictures. It should be out in Tuesday's paper for Sullivan/Bourbon. The parade and pageant is Friday night September 19th at the Bourbon Fall Festival. The theme is "Get your Kicks, on Route 66". Come out and cheer on these girls as they compete for the Jr. Miss Bourbon Queen title. I am so thankful to get the chance to be a part of helping this new group of girls, knowing that this may be something they will always remember.

We really had a wonderfull time talking with alot of people from all over the country, one of the cyclist said this was very beauitful country to be racing through. We were honored to get a picture with the winner of this leg of the race (and I even got his autograph), along with another cyclist and our local mayor and state representative. God the compassionate one, whose loving care extends to all the world, we remember this day your children of many nations and many faiths whose lives were cut short by the fierce flames of anger and hatred. Console those who continue to suffer and grieve, and give them comfort and hope as they look to the future. Out of what we have endured, give us the grace to examine our relationships with those who perceive us as the enemy, and show our leaders the way to use our power to serve the good of all for the healing of the nations. This we ask in Jesus name. Amen

This year is one-in-a-million for me. I am so excited and can't wait to get to know all of the queens better. This is going to be a year I will never forget! You are all beautiful no matter what flaws or insecurities you may have. It's what on the inside that counts!
I hope to use my title "as a megaphone to bring awareness to this prevalent issue, while demonstrating and inspiring others that one can achieve goals despite obstacles or barriers." As like Jayna Altman - Miss Missouri International 2008 of St. Louis, my platform is Abilities First, an integrated program raising advocacy, awareness and visibility for disabilities through positive and assertive attitudes. I would love to meet with her sometime this year. She inspires me, and should inspire you to never give up. Congratulations to all the new queens. I can't wait for an awesome year with you all. And THANK YOU SO MUCH TO LINDA AND RUTHIE, for having a wonderful program such as the Show Me Missouri and Miss Missouri Outdoors Pageant! Without you, this would not be possible for me to use my title to help others. Thank You from the bottom of my heart!

Hello everyone! This truly is a dream come true! I'm still getting over the shock of being crowned the first "MRS." Show Me Missouri! I have been dreaming of this day for almost 10 years now, since I was 18 years old. After doing pageants all my life, I always told myself when I was younger, "When I grow up, get married and have kids, I want to someday be a Mrs. Missouri Queen. Then after having my first baby, the dream seemed like it would never become a reality.
The left side of my face was left paralyzed, after doctors tried giving me an epidural. With each stick, I lost a little more spinal fluid each time. After several attempts, it still wasn't going in right. Because of the loss of spinal fluid, my brain didn't have enough fluid left around it, to support itself up inside my skull. So, my brain had dropped down a little bit. When it did, it pinched the nerve in the back of my brain. It was the nerve that sends the "signals" to the muscles. I had lost all muscle control to the left side of my face. My eye couldn't blink, & my mouth wouldn't move. No matter how hard I tried, they were "frozen". My lips wouldn't come together, and I couldn't pronounce my B's, P's, or F's. My jaw wouldn't even open to chew food! I still can't whistle or drink through a straw, because my lips don't come together right. My left eye is really tiny because of so many years of muscle loss in it, and my smile will never be completely straight again.
It's been over 6 years now, and I'm still trying to overcome it. I've gotten a tiny bit of muscle control back, but it will never be the same again. I never knew how much work that my muscles actually did, until this happened. We never realize how much we take for granted, until it's gone! I am so thankful just to be alive! It could have been alot worse.
Doctors had said, I may not ever be able to even have children. So, Even though my face will never look like it did before, I would do it all again in a heartbeat to know that I was able to be blessed with my "miracle babies".
It has been a struggle, being self-conscious of my face. Especially, with smiling and getting pictures taken. After the first few months I didn't think I was pretty anymore, because of my face being messed up. At that point in my life, winning any more pageants would just have to be dream.
After years of living with what happened, I have learned with the help of others that, I am beautiful. It's hard for me to say that today because I still go through those moments sometimes. But, I just have to tell myself, "I am still the same person". IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE ON THE OUTSIDE, BUT WHAT'S ON THE INSIDE IS WHAT COUNTS THE MOST! If you, or if you know of someone that is having trouble feeling "pretty", I hope my story can inspire you. God made everyone different and beautiful in their own way, for a reason. We just have to find that inner person, and let her know she is beautiful.
As you can imagine, this truly is a "DREAM COME TRUE" for me. I never thought I would ever be able to win a pageant again. But after competing last year as well, I had to keep on trying. Don't ever give up hope! Just be yourself, and keep smiling. (Even if it is a little bit crooked of a smile) :-/

All our Contestants are WINNERS! They all did a wonderful job and all looked beautiful! We just couldn't crown everyone even tho they are deserved a crown.
Next year may be your year! Congratulate yourself....it take courage to face a auditorium of people!!! A BIG thank you to all you parents! AND congrats to all our NEW Queens. Make this a year of a Life Time! Linda Tipton, pr

I thought the pageqnt was a great success. I was so pleased to see so many young ladies competing. I want to thank Linda and Ruthie for what they do all year that makes the pageant what it is. I want to also thank the people in the back ground that help. A special thanks to the judges. Judging a pageant is a very difficult task, especially when you have so many exceptional girls. We could not have a pageant with out judges. Thank you all so very much for your time and commitment to the pageant.

Congratulations to all of the new royalty. I hope you enjoy your reign and I hope to see all of you in Hannibal for the Folk Life Festival in October.

To the 2008 royalty: I think you all did a wonderful job and I greatly appreciate having the opportunity to work with all of you. Thank you for being great role models for our children.Good luck to all of you in the future.

Hi, I am doing a collection drive to help our local VFW womens auxillary and local soldiers. Every month they send packages to 7 area soldiers currently serving overseas in the war on terror. The soldiers that recieve these packages share them with their fellow soldiers. They need monetary donations as well as certain items to send. Here is a list of items needed: Wet Wipes, lotions, sunscreen, sunglasses, individual drink mixes, writing supplies, phone cards, playing cards, puzzle books, any kind of cosmetics(mens/womens), hard candy, snacks(no chocolate), q-tips.

Sometimes we don't think about the fact that these soldiers can't just run to the store to pick these things up. These soldiers are fighting to keep us safe and we should support them. It would be great if some of the younger queens/contestants would even want to draw pictures or make a card that could be sent also.

My cousin leaves for basic training next month. Someday soon he could be over there too.

If you would like to help, please email my mom. marshag@fidmail.com

Thank You and God Bless

Hi. I just went to Branson and saw a great show called Raising America....And guess what? One of the kids performing in it is a former Missouri Outdoors queen/Show-Me Missouri Outdoors queen, Rachel Wentler. It was a great time and I enjoyed talking to her about everything she has been doing and everything she did as the Mo Outdoors queen. If you're in the area, it is a good show to go see through the Veteran's Task force at the Grand Plaza.

My daughter and I are thinking of getting together and doing a Prom dress drive for girls who otherwise wouldn't have the money afford a dress to go to prom. I thought that if enough people pitched in and donated dresses, shoes, accessories, etc. it would be well worth a shot. Chiara is always on top of things and a little girl she knows sister wants to go to prom and her mom and dad didn't have the money for a dress. The little girl said to Chiara you do pageant can she borrow one of yours...lol Which you know how kids are Chiara says yes, and when she got home she told me and said she was gonna let her wear one of her dresses..lol I said sweety that is nice of you but her sister is in high school and I do not see her fitting in your dress. We sat down and brain stormed together as always and we came up with doing like a Prom Dress Drive. I was gonna get a hold of my current Junior Miss Ashley Cox and get my pageant girls on board as well and see what they think. I figured I could get enough word out through the media and extend the option not only to my community but others. Needless to say no one needs to worry about the girl my daughter was talking about because we are going to make sure she has a prom dress to enjoy her prom and my the girl who does my hair is going to do her hair and makeup for her special day. Life is about giving and not receiving and I feel so blessed that my 9 year-old is always wanting to make a difference in the life of others and we work together as a team to make a difference. If anyone would be willing to help or offer suggestions please let me know. Prom is just around the corner.

God Bless & Love,
Dana & Chiara

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't wrote lately. Hope everyone had a great holiday and are still enjoying their titles! I know I am! These next couple of weeks are going to be busy... but lots of fun! This Saturday myself as well as Chrissy Burkholder (Miss Missouri Outdoors) are celebrity guests at the Bass Pro Grand Opening in Independence, Missouri. (We even made the Kansas City Star newspaper!!) I'm so excited to get to attend...it is a real honor! Then the following week we will be traveling to Jeff City to the capital and also attending the Deer Classic in Columbia. I'm so excited to learn about how they score the deer. My husband has tried to explain it to me but seeing it in person I'm sure will help. Thanks so much to Freddie for organizing that!! You are such a blessing to the pageant!!!! Well hope everyone is surviving without too much of these nasty bugs going around. I am now recovering from round 2. :) Hopefully that will be the end! Take care and God Bless!

They all had questions for me about where my crown and sash came from. It was so fun to read and interact with them. It gave the teachers a short break also.

From the Riverboat ride in Hannibal, the stories from the Vets in Branson, to all the bundled families waiting for candy in the parades I have certainly been around some amazing people and participated in some wonderful activities! Last month I was also able to go to Vienna Elementary & Highschool and read to several classrooms about snowfall, and being good listeners. I took my fur teddy bear with me and all the faces of the students lit up when they saw what I had in tow! They had so many good questions about the pageant and the reasons why I think this experience has so much value...it was so great! I've also helped judge a couple pageants here and there...so things really have been busy! I'm looking forward to the new year and all the wonderful things we have planned already! Happy Holidays everyone! Stay safe during this winter weather and I hope to see you soon!

Hello Everyone!! It has been very busy with everything going on. We went to Branson for Veteran's Day. It was AWESOME!!! Big Cedar Lodge is gorgeous. The views are spectacular. We took photos and then had hotdogs, compliments of Linda and her husband, Thank-you both!! Then we went to the Landing to take pictures, it is decorated to beautiful. Flags everywhere along with the Christmas decor. We then went to the Penney Gilley show. She is such a nice person, she recognized our little princesses, that made their day. The next day, we were honored to ride in the parade. As much fun as it was to ride in the parade, I would have to say that visiting with the Vets was the best. They are all so willing and eager to talk with you and to show you things. Tons of pictures were taken. I would really like to be able to go back again, I was truely blessed to be there.

Man was this past weekend busy. Several of us were in the Newburg Christmas Parade and the Rolla Christmas Parade on Saturday. It was really cold in the morning, but had warmed up a little for the afternoon parade in Rolla. The Boze girls, Caitlyn and I were in the Waynesville Parade on Sunday, we almost froze I think. On of my toes didn't thaw out until later that night. It is so cool to see all the little kids faces as you go by. Frozen and all, I had a great time.

Hi everyone! I don't know about everyone else but I'm having a blast representing Mrs. Missouri Outodoors! Nov 10th & 11th we went to Branson for the Veteran's Day Celebration. Saturday we went to the landing and took pictures of all the queens and then we were honored to be guests at the Penny Gilley show. (Which was wonderful!! Great entertainment!!) Sunday we rode in the Veteran's Day Parade. It was such a blast. We got tons of pictures with the Veteran's as well as other guests in the parade. It was such an honor to be a part of such a wonderful celebration that honors our Veteran's!! This past weekend I went to Columbia, MO and rode in the Holiday parade with Chrissy Burkholder (Miss Missouri Outdoors) We had a lot of fun even though we about froze!! :) We were even mentioned on Country 96 radio and were filmed riding in the parade by a local Columbia channel and KRCG-13. Dec 1st we will be in the Rolla, MO Christmas Parade ... we are hoping it doesn't snow that day! :) Well I hope everyone is having a great time with their titles! Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I would like to say that we had a wonderful time while everyone was in Hannibal. I don't know when I have met a more pleasant group of people. The queens and their families were a joy to be associated with. Thank you all for coming and I hope to see you all here again.

Over the weekend Mrs Missouri Outdoors Brandy Barnes judges the pageant at the Stockton Walnut Festival. She is such a joy and did a great job. You would never know that she wasn't a pageant pro! She's very beautiful and full of personality! Your judges did a great job when they crowned her. You will be seeing a lot of her at these functions I have a feeling. Great family too and very supportive. Way to go Mo. Outdoors!

It seems the stage-lights of broadway have called our one and only Little Miss Missouri Outdoors 2005 and Little Miss Show-Me Missouri 2006-2007 queen! She has auditioned with 2,500 other kids from across the nation and was chosen to be one of the dance performers who will open the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in NOv. with a routine titled "Making Magic". Watch for this little red-head.......she's New York Bound and will represent the state!
Also, she had the chance to be one of the judges for Mansfield, Mo Laura Ingall's Wilder Festival this past weekend. She helped crown the new "little Miss Laura" and
"farmerboy" titleholders for the next year. It was great fun!

Over Labor Day weekend I was crowned Mrs. Missouri Outdoors. I was so excited and very surprised seeing as this was my first pageant. I live in Rolla, MO with my husband Scott and our two children: Haylee, 3 and Kaleb, 11 months. I am so thrilled to get to experience this and have a great group to experience it with.

This past weekend we went to the MTA Rendezvous in Cuba, MO. It was a lot of fun. We got to meet Miss Missouri and a ton of really nice people. We even entered the skillet toss!! And believe it or not...we didn't place. But we put in a good effort and had fun...that is what is important.

I would also like to take a second to thank everyone for their support so far. i know this is going to be a great year!!!!!

Today I and several of the other outdoors royalty attended the fun. First we rode in the parade, with the heavy chance of rain hanging over our heads. It didn't rain and we had a great time. Several of us rode together on a trailer that was hastily put together. I heard one little boy say, "boy, that's a lot of crowns!" The smiles just didn't stop. After the parade we attended the street market where there was plenty of good food to eat and lots of homemade crafts to take home with you. I think that we all felt a little scattered, what with this only being a week out from crowning, but we made it fine. It can only be better from here. We are looking forward to the trappers meeting next weekend.

What a weekend!!! We had so much fun. My daughter Julianne was crowned the State Preliminary Queen and my youngest was crowned Little Miss Spirit award and Photogenic. As for Julianne she cannot wait to join the events with all the other pageant sisters. Next year we will be back and will be arriving with a little more knowledge and time under our belts. It was such a wonderful experience for both of my girls. Something about Sidnee always wins the Spirit titles this was her second one. She takes pride in these awards her smile and kind heart glow 24 hours a day and someone saw this in her. I enjoyed myself as well. See you all next year. Any events that the girls come across please let us know we are very involved with our community as well as others and wish to join any and all events through the year. Thank you again for a great memory to build from.
