Subject: All Pretense Is Gone (loss to St Francis)

This is a horrendous loss for the Fairfield Program....not just because we lost the game, but because we played the game (opening game at their gym).

If you want to go back to Archieve #8, you will see what people thought about this game months ago.

Its impossible to get up for a St. Joe's game or a Providence game when you open up your year playing in a bandbox against one of the least respected programs in Div I and , on top of that, you lose!

All that talk about us running up and down the court and throwing in 30 footers now seems a bit absurd. It looks like a long long year.

I agree this is very disappointing. I just bought tickets to take my son and my dad to Monday's St. Joe's game and next Monday's Providence game.

I haven't see a box score, and didn't listen to tonights game, but I'm sure they missed Maxwell tonight.

Hopefully they bounce back and play some competative basketball over the next few weeks. If not I could see a 2 -7 or 1 - 8 start before Jan 1st....not good!

One other question I have is why does Fairfield constantly schedule against the NFL ? They did it last year playing a Saturday afternoon game in December when the NFL had games on Saturday, and now the next two Mondays against Monday Night Football. I will be there, but is it wise to schedule against the NFL consistantly....maybe there is a reason someone can share....

All stag fans should be embarassed about tonights loss to St. Francis. Fairfield better get their act together or else this will turn into an extremely long and losing season. However, it will be tough to bounce back from this game, especially since the next couple of games are against some very tough teams.

I hope the season tix are worth it, but it doesnt look like it after tonights showing.

Stag fans let down once again...

I love how this is termed an "embarassing" and "horrendous" loss. Like Fairfield has morphed into UConn or something after winning one league title the last 18 years and playing to 30 percent capacity in a 9,000 seat arena. Suddenly the Stags are above playing in small gyms. Please.

St. Francis is always decent, sometimes pretty good, went on the road to beat St. John's last season and has won like 76 percent of its home games since 1997.

Not an upset folks.

HUGE LOSS, Embarrassment for Fairfield, horrendous loss. One game does not a season make. Everyone knew going into this season the cupboard was bare. Unfortunately Maxwell's indiscretions are going to hurt this team early. If he played last night the Stags probably win. If he is reinstated for the 2nd semester (Along with Mamadou) some much needed bulk and toughness underneath returns. One MAAC game will be played in the first semester (Loy. 12/9). The ultimate goal is winning the MAAC tourney and getting to the NCAA. The mood of many on this board is that the season is over. Look on the bright side. Han is going to be a special player, MOS is poised for a big year. The OOC games may get ugly but remember the ultimate goal. The MAAC season starts 1/5/06. Thanks, NJ Hoops Fan for your insight on St. Francis.
