Subject: Fr. Von Arx Video Profile

I found this very well done video profile about Fr. Von Arx at the following Media Center - Award Winning Programming link:

http://www.faculty.fairfield.edu/mediacenter/sub_orange_01-3.html

The video is entitled "Doors" and is about 12 minutes long. It gives you a great overview of his life and insight into who he is and how he arrived at Fairfield.

I would also recommend the "Then and Now" video. It's a great historical piece about Fairfield University comparing the inaugural state of the school versus today. It's a very inspirational piece showing how the school has grown from its initial days as a GI Bill school.

Alumni Relation should be all over these videos and they should be posted on their Website. I certainly felt reconnect to the University and I hope you do to!!! Plus it reminded me to make my Annual Fund Contribution... :-)

Cheers,

Stagophile

I also highly recommend you view the "Class of 1951" video. Great stories about and pictures of the first graduating class with alot of familiar faces from my days at Fairfield. It's amazing the impact this class had on shaping the school. Many of the guys were WWII veterans on the GI Bill. It's nice to think how Fairfield not only has the special connection to the Jesuits, but also to the "Greatest Generation." Also, does anybody know where I can find the word to the Fairfield Fight Song? They play it in the background of the video, but, I never knew we had one.

I just couldn't stop watching these videos. They are all great. I can't believe the University hasn't featured these videos on fairfield.edu.

The "Mission Statement" is well done and should be the centerpiece of our Admission Website as it does a great job of communicating what Fairfield is all about in both a visually (i.e., beautiful shots of campus) and orally manner.

The last video I watched was "The Man, The Priest, The President" video about Fr. Kelley. It's a nice tribute to the man who did so much for Fairfield and gives a glimpse into his daily life and interests.

Enjoy...you know I did!

Sorry...that is "in both a visual and oral manner."
