[> Sports Network Preview: Providence (2-0) at Fairfield (0-2) -- Antman, 11:55:44am 11/28/05 Mon, [1]

The Friars have put forth a solid effort thus far and should continue to play well tonight when they meet a Fairfield team with a slew of problems at the outset.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Providence 78, Fairfield 59

I would think the correct line is somewhere between the 5.5 pts and 19 pts that TSN predicted.

The big question is how do we respond from the St Joes loss. I would hope that we learn from last game and change things around like playing tougher "D". I would expect Providence to be more talented offensively than St Joes was, but not at good defensively, nor as expereienced.

I have no idea how this team will respond, my gut says we will play well.

Our shots better be falling, because I don't see any way to keep PC from pounding us on the inside. I'm hoping to make this a much more competitive game than St. Joe's, but if our offense isn't clicking, there is no way that we can rely on our defense against these much bigger teams. We will need to do an excellent job boxing out just to get a few rebounds, but even under the best circumstances, this will be a very lopsided rebounding game in favor of PC. I'm hoping the game is closer to the 5.5 point margin, but my gut says it will be closer to the 19.

I'm expecting a blow-out tonight. We don't match up with the Friars inside. What should be our strength, guard play is at best a break even, as providence is at least as quick at the guard position. I'll be there, but you better light a candle for the team in this game, I think it is a tough match-up for the Stags

with lighting that candle is that it's still stuck in the middle of the cupcake that we are. Take the Friars and give the points. Having said that, this is an opportunity to put some people in the AHY as I have to believe many black shirts will be in the crowd - hope it just doesn't seem like a home game for them. There just is no excuse for not packing the place.
As far as basketball is concerned, this is becoming our exhibition season. TOT has to find the right players now if the MAAC schedule is going to be slightly competitive. He has to find out what (and who) will and will not work and build from there. And if certain players aren't producing after all the off season work, preseason work or previous season's work, then have them grab a seat and watch, but now is not the time to think someone is going to improve overnight.

we have to make this a shooting contest, and if we miss, so what. go after the long rebound and force them to play our game. i don't care about any hanke, out shoot them from the arc and we win.

Great strategy Dr Naismith. Let me get this straight a team that has averaged slightly over 50 points per game is going to outscore a Big East team?
