Subject: ZUIDERZEE's TOP 10 (movies)

As promised.

To provide some insight, I thought I'd try to
make things around here more personal.

Having been a fan of the "Book of Lists" series
ever since they hit the shelves, I figured I'd
throw out a few lists of my own to see if anyone
shared my interests.

Of course, it's not going to be completely
accurate at first, but here goes:

ZUIDERZEE's TOP TEN FAVORITE MOVIES.

(some you've likely never heard of)

1. The STAR WARS trilogy (excluding Phantom
Menace for obvious reasons--and barely
including Return of the Jedi)

2. The Indiana Jones trilogy. RAIDERS being
the standout of the bunch.

3. Jurassic Park (I wasn't a big fan of the
casting, but...those Dinos were awesome)

4. The Wizard of OZ. ('nuff said)

5. A Christmas Carol (the old, old one with
Alistair Simm)

6. Superman the Movie (the shortened version
irks me--what I refer to is the seldom-
telecast and complete 188 minute version.
If anyone of you out there can get a VHS
copy to me...)

7. Sinbad the Sailor (1947) starring the late
Douglas Fairbanks Jr. This is Sinbad as
it was meant to be; experienced, severe,
charming and athletic and above all not
needing a batch of jerky stop-motion
creepy-crawlies to make the movie
exciting.

8. The Pink Panther Strikes Again. (Once
again, I decry any shortened version of
this film and love the extended version
that premiered on ABC so long ago.)
Finally Blake Edwards had the sense to
make my favorite Chief Inspector the
focus of the film rather than a supporting
character.

9. Stalag 17 (the film that inspired the
wimpy TV series, Hogan's Heroes)

10. The Warlord (with Charlton Heston)

So much for culture. Next time, my
Top Ten big-bust models. See if your
list matches mine.

Bye for now.

ZUIDERZEE.
