Subject: Arguing with the Lord

Do you ever consider it right to argue with God.?

Well, the thing is: when you "argue with God", it's not about you getting to win, but about understanding what He meant, and in that case, it's not just permissible, but also encouraged, this kind of dialogue was the pattern Job set for posteriority.

In the end, it's not about relativizing the Bible, but your conclusion is not too far off, that there are priorities.
The New Testament is not like the 10 commandments, a law etched in stone, unwavering and set for good - but a book of principles and guidance, and I'm very sure that anyone with half an ounce of conscience would prefer the principle of "love one another" over a government decree: "If your neighbor is handicapped, shoot them..."
For instance.

But let's stick a bit more to the intrinsic significance of that verse, since it's a hard bone to chew on ;)

In Christ,
Mike K.
