A very interesting article. What responsibility do the children of the Nazi generation bare? Certainly, they did not make the decsions and to some extent were victims of circumstance. As the article points out, at least Germans have become more honest about their role in WWII then other countries. My wife (who is Korean) was commenting the other day how the Japanese have whitewashed their role in world war two in their school textbooks. Instead they talk about the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Making themselves out to be victims in WWII. Of course the Japanese were very brutal in Korea, forcing many woman to serve as sex slaves and trying to forcibly replace Korean culture with Japanese culture. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
I would say WWII had a profound effect on many peoples way of thinking and taught different nations different lessons.
