The only country I visited was South Korea, in 2001. It was to visit the UBF Reformer's conference in KwangJu (I think). It was quite an exciting time (not the conference, just seeing the different country and culture). I just like the fact that I got a free ticket to another country on UBF money, when it was clear that I was an ex-member and didn't think much of UBF.

My highlight there was going to the Kukkiwon, which is the headquarters for Tae Kwon Do in the world. That was pretty fascinating. Other than that, the whole conference thing was kind of a bore. My role there was just to observe and see if what they were doing looked like a realistic step towards change. It was good to see them try to take a step forward, but they were taking three steps back for every one forward, IMHO.

My wife Cathie went to Russia in 1997 with Samuel Lee and the rest of the crew for the Russian conference. She didn't like the UBF stuff, but she did get to go to the Art museum in St. Petersburg. Totally awesome...I was totally envious. She also visited a Cathedral, which was cool for her. (She doesn't remember where the Cathedral was.)

Anyhow, that's our big excursions. If we wanted to go anywhere, it would be Australia.

Cheers!!

Tom
