Hi Chris,
It is a long time since I heard something on Paul Yongi cho.
Too sad to hear such a bad news.
It once again underlines my conviction, man of God can, and is bound to fail, but God does not fail.
I remember way back in the late 80s, His church and this book was highly popular, as a model of Christianity and church leadership. If I remember right, he has or had the largest congregation in the world, and was praised those days by late Ronald Reagan.
In India he received much admiration, and his book was read by many with great enthusiasm.
When the UbF started its “prey”ing mission in New Delhi(jnu),one major reason they could gain our respect and support was- that they are Koreans from Paul Yongi cho’s place- (so they gotta be good too. So lets trust our necks with them!!.We thought)
Around the time we wer testing Ubf in late 80s, we asked the visiting John Jhun, what you think of Paul Yongi cho and his mission? He said he is a man of God .and yongi cho is learning from(trying to copy from ) Ubf about how to attract the youth. The next question was is Ubf anyway connected to moonies. as obviously he didn’t want to say moon is copying from ubf, lol)

I am sad to note Paul Yongi cho’s mission has gone corrupt and lost its saltyness.
.I find it difficult to digest, how Christ can let such things happen, after so much “using” of such giants by God.Really mysterious!
After leaving Ubf, I always found refuge in his book to console my self and to regain the spirit ,And that time I did nt find anything wrong with it, rather found it very inspiring. The book is translated into Indian languages and is very popular .
I suggested my father to read it when he was terminally ill with cancer way back in 1998. He also wrote to me, having got lot of inspiration from that book .
Even my wife( before marrying me) was referred this book by some friend, and she was asked to pray to get a husband of her specification!! Believe me , she told me I met the prayer specs!in height and other aspects!!( atlleast in those days !LOL
( Though she may have a different opinion today about it,haha)

I had a good opinion on Samuel Lee before reading the truth about him here from eye witnesses..
There is a poem in our language which translates like…
Light(knowledge/truth) is sadness my child, darkness(ignorance) is pleasing…
I understand why ubfers like to close their eyes and remain in darkness ( without truth exposure) to enjoy the pleasure of ignorance – a bliss .
