I will make a couple of points.
1. I agree that there are right and left wing 'extreme' groups that should be and are condemned. The KKK has very little following and is almost non-existant. This is a credit to the American people. You mentioned McVeigh, he was tried and excuted for his crimes. Certainly there was no sympthathy for him. Yes, the right wing is strong in America, but it is controlled by strong Judeo-Christian beleifs.
What Americans object to is the characterization of Bush as a "right wing extremist",he is not.
2. Since the civil war it has been Democrat Presidents that have gotten us INTO war and Republican presidents that have gotten us OUT of war.
WWI Democrat Woodrow Wilson leads us into war
WWII Democrat Franklin Roosevelt leads us into WWII
Korean War-Democrat Truman gets us in, Eisenhower(Republican) gets us out
Vietnam- Democrats John F. Kennedy, Lydon Johnson gets us in, Nixon(Republican) gets us out.
Cold War-Reagan(Republican) stands up to Soviets, wins(gets us out)Cold war
War on Terrorism-Democrat Clinton gets us in-through failed policy and inaction gets us in. Bush-fights will get us out through victory.
