Date Posted: 10:35:45 06/12/06 Mon The day was clear and warm, but not overly so. Bird twittered in the trees, scolding the numerous equines that settled in the shade of the birds home. The stream that trickled throught the meadow seemed smaller than usual, it had been drying up with the warm weather. But in all the years the herd had loved here, it had never stopped giving off clear, life giving liquid. Walking around his herd, touching muzzles with mares or givng foals a playful nudge, was the tall frame of the herd Stallion; Ashquar. His muzzle was flecked slightly with grey, the only sign that showed he was aging. His long banner flicked as the aging foals ran past him, playing tag with each other.
