What makes you think I'm American? Really, I could be British or Swedish or, maybe... Canadian?

I live in Ontario, Canada.

I'm not too horribly pissed off, although I'm a bit annoyed. Rule number 1 about the internet dude, is you can't ever, ever make assumptions about people's nationalities. I know a lot of Brits who would go nuts if you asked them that question.

Unless you meant state as in a nation. But I've never heard that usage outside of my philosophy class, so somehow I doubt it.
