And I made a snowman for the first time in 6 years here in Macon, GA, southeast USA. Weather is funky lately, but I would attribute it to natural schemes in weather more than global warming. For one thing, the Gulf Stream is weakening, and that has been the mediating factor for weather in the western hemisphere (and really throughout the world) for nearly 8000 years. Now, the reason for this may indeed be global warming, but I doubt it. the temperatures of water around the northern ice caps has been warming (almost a degree in one hundred years I believe, which is insance on an oceanic level), this is causing more fresh water (ice) to enter the north of the atlantic ocean. Normally the water here is salty due to fresh water freezing out of the ocean. That salt water sinks and cools forming the cold stream that forms the other half of the gulf stream's cycle. With less salt in the water, this stream has been weakened, and thus the gulf stream has also weakened.

*ZOINKS!* I'm a big geek. Well it boils down to: we may have an ice age or 'warm age' on our hands as soon as 2 or three generations off.

There's one great mitigating factore to global warming, however... by the time we can do any permanant harm to our atmosphere, we will have run out of fuel to do it with.

Umm..... yeah
