Here is a letter some NIE folks can use to solicit sponsors for their election materials. AND.. teachers, check to see what local NIE programs are your newspapers have in the way of free and low-cost materials to help you present the elections in a way that make them come alive for the girls and boys.

If freedom rings in an empty forest, will anyone hear it?

Over the past few years, the world has seen what happens when some people not only don't have opportunities afford them by a free, democratic society but what happens when they resent those who do.

We don't want that to ever happen here. And our newspaper needs help from you or your business to make sure it does not. We are hoping to distribute powerful education lessons to our community's school children that explains why elections and the democratic process are so powerful. These lessons are not slanted toward any one candidate. But they ask students to follow newspaper cover of this fall's election to consider what it means to our community and to the entire world.

Please help us in this important endeavor. We'd like you to sponsor a classroom set of newspapers and materials for your children's classrooms during the election period, or for a teacher who would dearly love to use these fun and valuable materials but cannot afford the low cost.
