Subject: a teachable moment

David,
Schools districts throughout the country are encouraged to look into inviting an award-winning literacy/ newspaper based consultant for teacher training. The good news is that there are openings starting in January, 2005. The owner/consultant is highly trained and experience based, with a Master's Degree in Education and over 13 years education teaching and training experience with students, teachers and other professionals throughout the country.

How does it work? The training is literacy and newspaper based across the curriculum. Teacher professional development training includes school and classroom visits. After the professional development training the consultant will be available for the next 6 months for phone and e-mail help to trained teachers.
—National research has proven that using a newspaper with students in a classroom setting inproves standardized test scores 3-10%.
School districts are welcome to contact Kriss Johnson, headlines@aol.com for more information. A consultant can be hired for just $2,000 a day plus expenses and this cost includes the training, school visits and 6 months of phone and e-mail consulting. I encourage school districts to make contact now for second semester as there will be a waiting list.

Thanks,

—Kriss Johnson
