We call that florentine with the exception of holding the shinai above your head. We would utilize more of a rapier main gauche style or just the use of two matched or mis-matched one handed swords. Incidentally I hope you read enough of our site to realize we do not use shinai during group battles, rather we use boffer weapons. Padding the weapon is much more cost effective than padding the fighter. We leave the shinai and rattan fighting up to the SCA.
