Hello North Carolina Cinderella
Well, here it is March, where does the time go? I was going to post something right after internationals but thought everyone would like a break. In September my intention was to let those attending get started in school. Then it was the holiday season, the new year, and now it’s March. How time flies! So, let’s get down to it. My intention in this post is to suggest that your everyday thoughts and actions can directly impact your achievements and help you to grow, not only in this wonderful of program of Cinderella, but in so many areas of your life.
Let’s take a look at one of the thought/actions that can really hinder your progress, “procrastination” (which, by the way, begins with a thought). Let’s see if I have an example of procrastination for you. Ah yes, what I did between August and now in getting this post up on the board would be a good example of it. Procrastination is something that we all do, and the real problem that I can see (other than the obvious of not getting the task at hand accomplished), is that we make excuses as to why it is okay that we procrastinated in the first place. It’s the excuses that can cause many of our problems, but that’s an entirely different conversation.
Why do I point this out you may ask? Well, I find many of those who contact me throughout the year choose to put off working on the skills (and I’m not talking about dance, singing, and music classes) necessary to succeed at their local, state, and international pageants until just a couple weeks or months before the pageant. I believe there are simple things on which you can focus everyday that will help you create habits which allow your unique qualities to shine through in everything that you do. And It is these unique qualities in the world of Cinderella that set you apart. You can excel in dance, music, singing, modeling, etc., but if we don’t see who YOU are...well you get the idea. So, my challenge to you is to create good thought patterns and good habits.
I wish you all the best as you prepare and look forward to seeing many of you over the next few months. As always, if I can be of any help to you in these preparations, it’s a pleasure to do so.
