Devil Rays holding anthem auditions

By Bill Chastain / MLB.com

ST. PETERSBURG
-- Continuing the tradition of the Devil Rays' community-minded spring, the organization is extending its annual offer to local residents who are interested in performing the national anthem at a Rays home game in 2006.

Interested candidates are asked to submit their auditions on videocassette or DVD (preferred), an audio CD or an
audiocassette tape. Auditions submitted in the above formats will be accepted between Jan. 3-28.

Judges will narrow the pool to 50 contestants, who will be invited to perform a live audition at Tropicana Field on Feb. 15. After the auditions, the Rays will contact 10 finalists to schedule a performance at a home game during the 2006 season.

Candidates should submit their audition tape/CDs to Anthem Singers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, One Tropicana Drive, St. Petersburg, Fla. 33705

All submissions will become property of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
