hey all! i haven't been around in awhile! i've had it pretty hectic as of late--however---i think i got my head somewhat straightened out...i've had one purge which kinda has me bummed, but i think its cuz of turkey day and all the food i've been eating..anyways..i'll live through it...so yeah..that's one negative thing...(plus this situation with my dad isn't getting any better--becky, i think you're the only one that knows the full extent of what's going on---but everything else is great...which also leads me to the topic of my dream....
actually..i just got back from a music therapy conference in austin texas, for those of you who don't know me...i am currently an undergrad at the university of iowa, trying to get a degree in music therapy..this has been an interesting journey for me, especially since the populations i'm interested in, are some of the same things i've been working on, and have overcome.....anyways, at this conference, i was nothing but inspired. i really want to change the world, and i think that music is universal, and i would like to do research in other countries to help people who have been through traumatic stressful events...i know that might be unlikely right away, so i am interested in working with either adolescent psych or hospice patients...i have personal reasons for both of these populations..i would especially like to work with ed patients or other mood disorders...i hope that my experiences with these will help my work with future clients...my biggest dream overall is to help change someones life...if i can make an impact on someone's heart, i know i've done my goal.
