Subject: The Fireballs set the stage for Surf Music

As a surfer and surf movie maker in the early 1960's I was always excited about the Fireballs music. The early songs like Bulldog, Foot Patter, ect. were the basis for all the California Surf music that followed in the mid 1960's. In looking back at all the albums I purchased during that time, it was amazing how many covers of the fireballs music or near knock off's there were from bands like the Ventures, Challengers, Lively Ones, Surfaries, etc.
An entire music trend was started in Raton, about as far from the California tubes as you can get. To many of my generation who grew up in California in the late 1950's and early 1960's the Fireballs music says it all. COWABUNGA DUDE!
