She seemed to be either imagining what she might do or doing it or, possibly, both. It's a pity we don't hear more about Dacia Maraini as she's said to be one of Italy's greatest living writers. However, The Silent Duchess would seem to be unfilmable and that's hard on an author these days when we usually hear about the film deal before the book goes into print(I'm throwing down the gauntlet Hollywood). Maybe the unfilmable book is literature's greatest hope? Thank God the good old days of the 18th century are gone though, what! [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
